Maxtor 5000LE external storage, one button BU for XP . . .

Hello:

The hardware is recognized. The Dantz Retrospect
software is loaded.

1) If the hardware is powered and connected via USB and
the machine is restarted, XP does not launch? Any ideas?

2) If I disconnect the drive from the USB port XP starts
fine. I do this and all looks good. I hit the one
button backup feature on the Maxtor and the software does
not pop-up. Maxtor instructions say it will pop up to
configure the backup software. Is this a compatibility
issue with XP?

Any and all ides are appreciated.

Rob, did you install Windows Update SP1 on your system?
