Why is it that Windows XP Upgrade will not completely load
into any computer? Does msft know that they have produced
a bogus product? And what about Windows Pro 2000. That
operating system sucks too. I have purchased both
products attempting to upgrade my system, neither will
completely load. Is there anyone who would like to buy
either of these products from me... or knows I cannot load
either of these into a win98 system?!

That's complete nonsense. Thousands, if not millions, of people
have done this successfully. A better question might be why is it
that *you* can't manage to do it when so many others can.

Sigh. Just another troll, I see.

Greetings --

Hasn't the obvious yet occurred to you? Your system has one or
more hardware components that are either sub-standard, defective, or
simply not compatible with either Win2K or WinXP. Both of these newer
operating systems require substantially better quality components than
does Win9x.

Before starting, did you take a few minutes to ensure that there
are Win2K or WinXP device drivers available for your PC's specific
components? There may not be, if the PC was specifically designed for
Win9x/Me. Have you made sure the PC is capable of supporting Win2K or
WinXP? This information will be found at the PC's manufacturer's web
site, and on Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List
(http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp). Also bear in mind that
computers designed for, and sold with, Win98/Me very often fail to
meet Win2K's (or WinXP's) much more stringent hardware quality
requirements. This is particularly true of many models in Compaq's
consumer-class Presario product line or HP's consumer-class Pavilion
product line.

Additionally, you can download and run Microsoft WinXP Upgrade
Advisor to see if you have any incompatible hardware components or
applications:

Did you run the compatibility software? When Windows 2000 and XP were
made, an effort was made to offer some backward compatibilty to
hardware but it was not an emphasis. There is probably a piece of
hardware causing a major conflict and it's locking up your PC.
OTH, why don't you try loading LINUX and see what kind of results you
get from that?

You are too dumb to realise that many people have done this. I did it and it
worked first time because I did the necessary research. You wouldn't buy a
new part for a car without seeing if it would work on your car. The PC is no
different.
