Chkdsk found problems or it didn't? If there really is an error on the
drive, that should be addressed. However, the reference may just be in
regards to a notation from some disk software in a non-standard area of
the disk. It's normal for some software to do that (partitioning or
recovery software for example).
What disk imaging program is giving you the "read error #50"? It sounds
like you may need to look up the error in the program manual or in the
company's technical support area online.
