lan connection in taskbar

Go to the Task bar and Right Click on the "computers"
that you don't want to see anymore. One of the options
you should have is "status". Choose it.

On the General Tab, Click Properties.

At the bottom of the window that comes up you'll see a
check box that says...

"show icon in notification area when connected"

Uncheck it and it should go away.
