new harddrive

i installed a new 120GB hardrive just the other day. i
was having a few problems getting it to work. i got a
mate of mine t set it up on the BIOS but windows XP will
not detct it in any way. I really need this to work as i
have completely run out of memory. My system is a bit
oldbut still thought there would be no reason for this
not to work. Any suggestions please, any help would be
greatly appreciated.
