I have a Compaq Presario 5410. I upgraded from Win98 to
WinXP Professional.
I open the Volume Control panel and able to move the
slider to increase the main volume. I am able to hear
sounds but the slider does not "stick" and falls back down
to the minimum level without touching it.
Audio would be fine provided I could keep the slider at
the level I want.
The ESS Technologies site mentions ES1869 has built-in
support for their drivers:
http://www.esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm#isa
I have applied all critical and recommended updates to my
new OS. All software appears to work fine outside of
hearing audio.
If anyone can provide a pointer as to how to resolve my
issue, much appreciated!
Thanks,
