download choices

Don't know under which catagory this should go - but I
need to find out how to determine which of the many
downloads that Windows XP sends to me - to download. Are
the ones labeled 'critical' - ALL to be downloaded? I
have little computer knowledge and it would seem unwise to
download EVERYTHING. Please advise.

Betsy,
The Rev XP has a good answer: BUT if you are not configured to use a feature
do not accept it. Two examples in my case: one is offered to me frequently
which I do not accept has only to do with WI-FI. I have no wireless stuff
and see no need for it until I do. I never accept any Windows Messenger
stuff because I never use it. BE very careful about turning down Critical
Updates since they are mostly security patches.
