printers

i have windoesxp profficional,suddenly i face a problem
in installing printers.
when i want to add any printer there is a massage appear
telling me that i cant add the printer because of unknown
error.
i have 2 printers one is hp 690 c the other is lexmark
z25.
if u can help me i will be gratefull.
