I've installed the Sony DVD/CD, R/RW Recorder (model DRU-
510A) on my computer but Windows XP Home Addition does
not recognize it for recording purposes. When I go
to "My Computer" and attempt to copy files/folders to the
DVD recorder Windows XP will not do it. If I try to
download files from the Internet and copy them direct to
the DVD/CD recorder Windows XP (or IE) will not do it. I
have to use separate burning software, e.g., Nero, in
order to use the DVD/CD recorder. Why won't Windows XP
recognize it and do the job? Does it require a special
driver? If so, where do I get it? Please answer only if
you know for sure how to solve the problem. Thanks very
much.

It requires the installation of the software that came with the drive.
