Default printer changes to shared printer

I have a (2) station wireless network. I have a local
printer setup for both PC's and are the defaults. I have
setup both PC's with a network shared printer so both
PC's can print to the other printer. Whenever a PC is
turned on, the shared printer becomes the default printer
overriding the local printer, which was the default. What
could be causing this? I have updated all printer drivers
and uninstalled and reinstalled. No Luck.
