When I attempt to use spellcheck in OutlookExpress, I get
an message that a error has taken place while spelling
was being checked. Is this because the scripting is
different than in Word and needs to be changed, and/or
how do I correct my problem??? Can someone help me????

Hi,

Could you please give the exact error message. outlook uses the same spell
checker as word.
This issue can occur if you are not using a Microsoft 32-bit spelling
checker.
Outlook Express does not support 3rd-party office or word processing
spelling checkers.

To resolve this issue, install or reinstall a program that
includes a 32-bit spelling checker, such as Microsoft Works 4.5, Microsoft
Office 7.0 for Windows 95 or Microsoft Office 97 programs: Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint or later versions.

Hope this helps.

With Best Regards,
Asima

OE does not come with a spelling checker. Never has. You need a 32 bit
application to do the job. It uses the spelling checker from any Office
program that has one. Do you have such a program?

If not you could try one of these:

Free spellchecker.

or this, which I use on my laptop, which has Works.

$15 shareware

And here's a freeware that checks your spelling as you type:
TinySpell
