DirectX 9 is causing problems with my video card, its now
so bad that I cant run any DirectX game without it
slowing down and freezing.
I never had these problems before when I was using
DirectX 8, so I need to know of anyway of uninstalling
DirectX 9 and installing DirectX 8 again.

Direct X can not be uninstalled.
You may have 3 ways to go back to a previous version.
1. System Restore...if the date is available
2. Repair Installation...all Windows Updates will need to be
reinstalled
3. Clean Installation...destroys all data, so back-up all important
data
A better option is to install the latest video drivers.

Greetings --
As has always been the case, there is no means uninstalling this
or any version of DirectX. Do as you were warned to do on the web
site from which you downloaded DirectX9: perform a system restoration
using the restore point you created before downloading and installing
the DirectX 9. This will also restore your original DirectX 8.1
files, which are incorporated into WinXP.

There are roll back programs that might work out there. I used one and it
worked perfectly.
