Encounted a problem

when ever a try to play a DVD, an error appears saying
that it has encounted a problem. then it closes. can you
HELP?

It might help if you could give details of which app you are using, what the
error code is, pc specs and what dvd playing software you have installed. If
it is shop bought or home made dvd's
