I have Windows XP installed on an old second-hand computer
(Pentium ll) and everytime I try to connect to an ISP the
computer freezes when the ISP tries to detect the modem.
The Window spftware tells me the modem and Com Port are
enabled and working fine. Even query modem will cause a
freeze and now System restore will not work. Any ideas on
how tho fix this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

Well repalce the modem or make sure that you have the most current
drivers for it installed.
