Problem Description: End user has Windows XP Professional
with XP Office installed on an HP Vectra VL-400 with
latest bios applied. User has screen saver enabled with
password protection. When the user uses the ctl, alt, dlt,
keystroke sequence to bring up the clear screesaver
password login dialog box, then enters their user id and
password, the delete key stops functioning in Outlook
only. If the user uses any other keystroke, or moves the
mouse to bring up the clear screesaver password login
dialog box, then enters their user id and password, the
delete key functions normally in Outlook.
I have tried swapping the keyboard, updating XP and Office
XP with all latest patches/updates, and checked with HP
support. They have no idea what would cause this. Any
ideas?
