Hi:
I uninstalled Norton System Works 2002 and reinstalled the latest version Norton System Works 2003 and now my system reboots without hanging up. Apparently this solved my problem.

Hi RC:
I am running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking, or whatever XP calls the old ScanDisk. It hangs up at the conclusion of everything... after the computer has rebooted automatically at the end of running it. No error messages etc. I have the desktop screen, but the mouse is hung up and will not move.
It's a Sony desktop, Pentium 4 CPU,2.4Ghz, 512MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, NTFS file system with Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 1. Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633.
Not the Tom Holland Poteau, but I bet he's a good guy also!
Thanks,
Tom

Hi, Tom. (Not THE Tom Holland? From Poteau?)
WinXP does not include ScanDisk, so what are you really running? ChkDsk?
At what point does it hang? Before or after WinXP starts to load? Before you see the Desktop? While loading icons?
When? Any error messages, blue screens or other clues?
For those of us who never had a Sony, is this a laptop, desktop, or other? How about a quick description - CPU, RAM, HD size, partitions and format?

Hi:
I have Windows XP Home Edition and now when I run Error-Checking
(ScanDisk) and the computer (Sony PCV-RX860) reboots it causes my computer
to hang up. Anyone have a cause and solution?
Thanks,
Tom
