How do you get new fonts in the Word drop down font selection menu

I have some new fonts in my Windows Fonts folder that do not appear as
options in my Word 2000 font selection drop down menu. How do you get
these fonts in that drop down menu so they can be selected in your
document?

how did you add the new fonts to your windows folder? did you just copy it
directly to the fonts folder? if yes, and you can identify them, move them
to a new folder, and then open the fonts folder.

click file > install new fonts > navigate to that folder (then windows will
show all the fonts in that folder) > select all > ok

that should work fine.
