Multiple Users on one OS-XP SP2

Help!

I setup my home PC to have multiple logins (not a problem,
that works). I set my files as "private" so that my kids
will not have access to my stuff (again, easy to do and
not a problem).

I realized that I don't want my wife and daughter folder
under MY DOCUMENTS, but that my WIFE and Daughter NEED to
get to thier files (this is the problem).

How can I "reverse" what I did (no longer make my files
private). AND better yet, I want to get access to
everything on the HD and want my wife the same access, but
only want the kids to get access to their stuff.

There is, from what I can tell, a tunable feature to set
private on/off.

Try R.clicking on my documents,properties,adjust in the privacy tab.

Create a user account for each individual - they will have their own
documents folder -- Start\Caontrol Panel \User Accounts

There are seperate accounts setup. Each can log in just
fine. The problem is that I have under MY Documents two
folders that I have set up as private, and I want them to
be moved/setup/accessed by two other family members
instead of me (as they are not mine).

When I log in as them and try to get access to thier
folders that are in "My Documents", it won't work-as I
have setup them up originally as private.

I need to reverse that process so that they can be
moved/setup accessed by them. Don't know if there is a
tunable switch to make them "not private".

Andrew,

Thanks for the reply. However, if you go to the My
Documents, RC|Properties| you only get three tab settings:
Target, General and Sharing. All three provide NO privacy
tab or setting that is tunable. The ONLY mention of
Private is greyed out and says "Make this folder private".

I guess the ONLY way to change folders, files and the kind
is by a registry change?

Dumbfounded as to reverse the process of NOT making my
folders/files private.

Just a Guess could you setup and use shared folders moving the contents into
the new folders?

Move the folders to Shared Documents.

Each user has his/her own personal 'My Documents' - the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\theuser\My Documents
which is seen by the logged on user alternatively as just 'My
Documents'. Limited/restricted users can only see their own:
Administrators can see any folder (looking at other people's My
Documents folders by the longer route. You can also have a 'Shared
Documents' - but that is accessible to all.

Easiest would be just to give your Wife's account Admin status, on the
understanding that she does not try any administration (to avoid
confusion only one person should actually do that)
