Fixation issue with CD Burner

When I try to create a CD (Data or Music) I get an
error "Unable to create fixation" in Nero and no details
using XP. This is a new error, I created a Music CD about
a month ago with no problems. The only new add-ons have
been Microsoft Updates. One was for the HighMat update.
Is there any knowledge that any of these updates have
caused problems with Lite-On DVD play/CD burner combo
drive.

Built myself:
ASUS Motherboard, AMD 2500 Barton, Kingston 512 DDR ram
(333bus), Lite-On combo drive, 80G Western Digital.

Have you tried another CD?
Also one from another package?

Two things.

i) make sure your cd burner's firmware is up to date.
ii) make sure you have the latest version of nero installed.
