corrupt file

Hi, can someone tell me please, what I can do with the following file...C:\WINDOWS\preftech\DUMPREP.EXE....when I try to de-frag, it won't let me...it says this file is causing errors... Thankyou

Run a Search on your PC for file DUMPREP.EXE
It should find two, one in Prefetch and one under C:\Windows\System32
You can delete the one in Prefetch by rightclicking and delete
Do not delete the one in the System32 file.
Reboot your PC.

If that is happening, delete that file. Files in Prefetch are just
records of how the real program called up other files during load, so
that next time the system can go about getting them before it is asked.
So deleting the file there has little effect.
