Hi Ronald,

do you have Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home edition?

Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and go to Tools > Folder
Options > View tab. Scroll all the was down and remove the checkmark next to
"Use Simple file Sharing" and click OK.

I hope this helps you out,

Mike

Hi,

if you don't have this option, you are using Windows XP Home editon. There
is also Professional Edition.

In Home edition you can only mark My Documents folder as private:

HOW TO: Set the My Documents Folder as "Private" in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;298399&Product=winxp

I hope this helps you out,

Mike

This sounds as if you have Home Edition, which has Simple file Sharing
permanently on.

You may be able to achieve what you need, if it is a one off matter, by
booting to Safe Mode, logging on as 'the' Administrator, and trying it
from that account
