I am planning to create a clone of my setup which is WinXP HE on a
Soyo 333 Dragon Ultra Plat. I plan to place this system on a new
computer
with another copy of the OS. This machine will have a NF7-S MB.
I had previously transferred data from a KT7 to the Soyo using
Ntbackup, overwriting a clean install on the Dragon and was able to
retain almost all of my previous programs and data. Used the info on
MSKB 314070 which has been removed from the database probably because
of many glitches I believe. Plan to try it again except now I'll be
using a
different copy of the OS and might have a different type of abstaction
layer.
If I "ghost" a copy of my present system to the new computer and use
the second copy of WinXP to do a repair installation after booting
from a CD, will this work? Will a new WPA and abstraction layer be
created which corresponds to
the serial number on the second Installation CD?
Will appreciate any advice.
