Hi, when will microsoft release XP SP2? I only saw Release Candidate 2 (RC2)
of the SP2 for preview. Is there a SP2 for production yet?
Thanks,
Jan

Microsoft has stated that SP 2 will (should) be sent to manufacturer in
August. I think it may realy come out in September or October.

SP2 is like a new baby, you never really know when it's coming into this world. Even MS doesn't know for sure. The SP2 has already been cracked and they are attempting to patch it. Maybe and I repeat, maybe by the end of August. {:~)

It's not out in a production version yet. I've seen some news stories
that say it will be released in August.

But actually, the problem(s) most frequently encountered after release of an
update or Service Pack are with misbehaving software. Why? Actually, the
answer is often simple: The software writers took shortcuts through those
holes that the Service Pack patches rather than following the proper
protocols. Now they will need to rewrite their programs/routines correctly
(but dont you worry, they will blame Microsoft for it).
