Do the icons disappear or hide? Right click on the system tray
If they are just hiding: http://windows.about.com/library/tips/bltip501.htm

No, it is a "feature" of XP, don't show unused icons. Right
click on an open area of the taskbar and you'll see the
checkbox on the bottom left.

Hi, Boots.
Right-click on the Clock in the SysTray, then click Customize
Notifications... You should find a menu where you can set each icon
individually to Always Show, Always Hide, or Hide when Inactive.
