How do I delete a file which has a name that starts and
ends with a period?

I tried recommendations from an earlier post and nothing
works.

If we don't know what you've tried before we will end up giving you the same
suggestions again. Can you tell us what you've already tried?

I believe you'll have to do this through the CMD window - Windows doesn't
seem to fancy files/folders that begin with a period. I'm a bit surprised
you could successfully create it - normally Windows throws the message "You
must type a filename".

Anyhow, open a CMD window (Start > Run > "cmd"), then open Task Manager
(Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Task Manager [if applicable]). From Task Manager,
end the Explorer.exe process. Keep Task Manager open and click over to the
CMD window. Navigate your hard drive to the location of the troublesome
file, and "del <filename>". If successful, you will not receive any
feedback, but rather a blank line and then another prompt. If this is the
case, go ahead and type "exit", then go back to Task Manager. Click File,
New Task, and type "explorer.exe". You should be good to go at this point.
