View Full Version : XP Installation

On a clean installation of XP, the installation starts,
copies the files need, then on the very first restart of
the computer, I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor
in the upper left hand corner of the screen. This is as far
as the installation gets. I have removed the modem and
video card, formated the drive, and reinstalled XP and it
still stops on the first reboot. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, shot

Hi,

Disable the BIOS anti-virus detection scheme.

This sounds like an old dos problem, when you say you cleaned your harddrive
did you "fdisk" it? Rebuild your partitions? If you did, from a dos boot
diskette run "sys c:" to reload the harddrive boot code.

Good luck! Tim
