im using win xp home edition with all the lates updates/packs installed.....and ran into this problem two days ago: (homebrew pc running for 3+yrs now w/out any problems like this)
i switch the winxp ICF on and off regularly due to some conflicts using AIM direct connect and send/get file....when i went to turn it back on, im now recieveing this (after checking the box and clicking ok)
"an error occured while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled
The specified service does not exist as an installed service"

my current box is the only one connected to the net via my cable modem, i searched thru services.msc and didnt find anythign related to ICS or ICF, as far as i can tell this wasnt caused by an update because i hadnt updated anything recently...
i cant figure this out for the life of me....TIA -Leo-
