I had to restore Windows XP on one of my machines at
home. I have set up the XP Home edition, home network
before without any problems. Now, I keep getting an error
that the network cannot complete. The reason given
is, "Your user account does not have adequate permissions
to set up a home or small office network." The problem is
that I am set up as an Administrator on this machine. How
do I get around this? This has always worked in the past.
I am connecting to the Internet through a Cable/DSL
router. I have reset/renew'd the IP configuration. The
device manager reports that the network card is working
fine. The User Manager confirms that I am an
Administrator. I've tried setting it up through the Safe
Mode Administrator account and get the same thing. Any
thoughts?
