I've read the 7/12/04 "Boot Problems". This seems to be
similar to my problem. I originally listed my issue in
New Users, "Keeps Restarting" 7/12/04.

The 7/12/04 "Boot Problems" talks about the recovery
console. How would I get there? I've also read something
about a repair option. I can't find that either.

I have a new XP home edition. I couldn't find the driver
for my printer and the add a printer operation wouldn't
work. I reloaded XP. Towards the end of the install, it
restarted my computer, went through the motions of
restarting, but never opened to a window, and restarted.
This cycle keeps going. I've checked the bios, set it to
boot from my CD, nothing changed, keeps restarting. I
tried the XP CD in my CDRW, keeps restarting. I do get
that blue screen flash (too fast to read), mentioned
in "Boot Problems".

I did try to fdisk from my old 98SE boot disk. I deleted
the partition, but could not create a new partition. I
got a message something to the effect of "disk full cannot
create partition". Nothing changed.

try booting to windows recovery console and running "diskpart", ive found that sometimes the win 98 startup disk will not work correctly.
