sorry,I overlooked it.
Java and Javascript are two quite different things.
Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options...

In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab

Under the Security tab, select the Internet Web content zone.

Under Security Level for this zone:
to enable JavaScript:
If there is a slider bar move the slider bar to Medium. Otherwise, if
the security level is Custom:

Click on the Custom Level ... button at the bottom of the page to open
the Security Settings window.

In the Security Settings window scroll down until you get to the section
called Scripting (near the bottom).

Under Scripting there is a catagory Active scripting, select the option
marked Enable for this catagory.

Click the OK button.

The complaint was about JavaScript. Installing a Java Virtual Machine
will do nothing for your ability to process JavaScript. Java and
JavaScript are two entirely different things.

But, your browser should be able to handle JavaScript without you
doing anything at all. You can turn off JavaScript by using
Tools|Internet Options, clicking the "Security" tab, choosing a zone
and clicking the "Custom" button to change the appropriate settings.
(I can't tell you exactly what because my employer blocks our access
to such things. I can't see the dialog box.)

I have exactly the same problem with Javascript. I have checked and
re-checked many times to make sure scripting is enabled in IE. The problem
is also not due to firewalls, anti-virus and pop-up blockers, because it
persists when I disable all of them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have written a Web page with minimal Javascript. When activating the
browser it performs as designed on other computers running XP. I have used
three different computers other than mine and the code executes as designed.
When I attempt to run this code on my home computer it does not run. The
JavaScript is totally ignored. I have gone into tools for the browser and
followed the recommendations here-in but it made no difference. The code
does not perform on my computer. DOes anyone have a recommendation or
suggestion how I can overcome this problem?
