My VirusScan software keeps detecting a virus in a file
called "C:/Windows/sb.reg" and is asking for me to
reinstall that file. How do I do that??? and is that
file even necessary??? I don't want to not have it if it
will disable other programs.

stevechenevey,

SB.reg is a virus file--you don't want another copy of it. Go to the
following site for additional cleaning steps;

I've never seen any .reg files in %windir%. It could be a virus, in
which case you don't want to reinstall it. Put it in the Recycle Bin for
a while.

There is a microsoft.public.security.virus newsgroup where you can ask
about specific virus file names, or you can go to McAfee's web site and
look it up.
