Unfortunately may root hard disk had a major faliure
yesterday. On replacing the disk Windows XP reported some
major file errors on one of my other disks. Naturally
this disk was the one that contained all my backups :(
during a chkdsk xp decided that it was going to delete my
backup .pst file and a s a result i have lost my mail
archives. When I try to recover the file with the recover
option I am told that the system cannot lock the drive as
the volume is still in use. I have tried a boot disk but
my drives are formatted as ntfs and will not recognise
when i take this route.
I would be most grateful if anyone out there could give
me some pointers on how to resolve this issue
