I cannot get my computer out of Stand by mode by pressing
keys on my keyboard or moving the mouse. I have to turn
the computer off with the power button to bring it out of
Stand by. Anyone know why this might be happening?
Thanks, Val

just pressing the power button, without turning the machine off, doesnt
resume it from standby? then your problem may be a setting in the bios.
maybe your motherboard bios needs to be updated. i would contact the
manufacturer of your motherboard/computer about the issue.

Val my system does the same thing. Which is why I don't use it. So, if you
find the answer please post it here for later reference.

I just got off the phone with HP tech support.. funny ,
the tech I talked to last night didn't help and the one
tonight solved the problem. He had me go into System
Device Mananger then system device then Microsoft ACPI-
Compliant System then Uninstall and restart the
computer, which reloads all the drivers and that fixed my
problem. Not saying it will fix your but it might be
worth a try.
Good luck!

and now that I turned it back off my system is blue screening but I will fix
that too! Again, thank you for the follow up!!!
