This machine is only 3 months old and running win xp
pro. i have installed a new cmos battery which didn't
fix the prob.

I understand that in some version there is a "adjust to
internet" tab in the "date and time properties" window,
although I don't have that.

HELP!!

Hi,

See if this helps:

Go to Start/Run and type in: cmd
At the prompt, type in:

net stop w32time, enter.
Then w32tm /unregister, enter.
Then w32tm /register, enter.
Then net start w32time, enter.

If you are DSL or cable modem- its probably your server that has their time
off- our work server is off by about 8 minutes- I kept noticing that I
could let my computer go 1 month or 1 day, each time I found it off- it was
always by 8 minutes.

Call em up and read them the riot act-
