Gents/Ladies:
I installed WINGATE on my xp machine (for something else, but hey). It has
a logging gui that shows all the attempts to connect to my machine (via
RoadRunner).
Many, many. Say 20-30 an HOUR.
What, if anything, should I do about these attacks?
Thanks

John ,
Depending on the data you can gather about the attacker - such as who their
ISP is and their IP address - you can report them to there ISP.
I certainly did that in the UK recently where a number of "attacks" came
from users of BT Openworld ISP services. The use of portscanning and other
tools by person using that ISP is a breach of their contract and as such if
you report them then they can get their service withdrawn.
Other then that - you just have to ensure that your firewall and antivirus
software are all doing there job and configured properly.
