Network reading program/Novell and XP

We have a Novel netork at our local school district. We
are using a network based reading program from Scholastic.
The XP Pro workstation does not see the directory on a
mapped hard drive.
Any suggestions?

Does the WinXP's PC user have permissions to access the folder?
On a Novell server, one cannot see, much less access, a resource to
which one (or a group of which one is a member) has not been granted
explicit permissions.
