I'm running XP pro with dual monitors. Primary is an onboard AGP with a NEC
flat panel, the secondary was an S3Virge with Dell CRT. Both ran at
1280x1024 just fine. Today I get a new IBM T860 flat panel that I connect
to the S3Virge (who wouldn't choose dual flat panel if they could :) ).
After installing the correct monitor drivers I can't get the new monitor to
go higher than 1240x768. I switched the monitors to the opposite card and
the same thing, the S3Virge now only goes up to 1240x768 on the flat panels.
Has anyone had this problem? And more important have you fixed it?

What's the frequency? The T860 runs at 1280x1024 @ 75Hz - are you sure the
frequency isn't too high?

Sorry, didn't specify that. I'm running it at 60Hz. Another weird thing is
the refresh rates listed varies. Just a little while ago I had refresh
rates of 60, 75 and 85. I've rebooted since then and now I only have 60
listed. And now I can get to 1280x1024, but only at 8 bit colors. The card
used to run 1280x1024 at 16 bit, and even 24 bit I think. So now I'm trying
to figure out why it keeps switching around. I've got another PCI card at
home I'm going to bring in to work tomorrow and try it out.
