Outlook Express spell check

I have Windows XP, & spell check won't work in OE v. 6.
I have Office 97 installed. I looked in MS knowledgebase
& found the error "an error occurred while the spelling
was bein gchecked." According to the knowledgebase, MS
has conformed that this is a problem, but no solution.
Does anyone have a solution??

I know nothing about this program, however I just went to that
site and noticed this statement: "Though it will operate under
Windows 95/98, it is not compatible with later versions (2000,
ME, XP)."
