View Full Version : Alphabetizing and numerical order

Using Windows XP and searching with Windows Explorer to
find sequential items. I find that the items are not
listed in the proper (a la Windows 98, Windows 2000)
order. For example, an item identified as XLM12345 would,
in previous Windows versions, have immediately followed an
item identified as XLM1234.

But in Windows XP, because (I assume) there are different
numbers of characters in the two identifications, these
two items would be widely separated in Windows Explorer.

Has any effort been made to come up with a patch to fix
this, or am I the only one in the universe with this
problem?
