The Windows 2000 CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows 2000 to partition and format your drive:

1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.
2. Insert your Windows 2000 CD in the CD Drive and reboot your =
computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the =
existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the =
primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows 2000.

5. Windows XP Clean Install:=20

We need to know the meaning of "unhappy."

To be specific, what was the problem when you tried installing Windows 2000?
Did you try to install clean or over Windows XP. If you tried installing
over Windows XP, that was the issue. You cannot to my knowledge go backward
from Windows XP to 2000, you would have had to format the hard drive first
and then install 2000.

You are aware, aren't you, that by installing an operating system, other
than the one that was installed at the point of sale, you are invalidating
any, and possibly all, warranties conferred apon that system when you
purchased it? Most manufacturers/retailers consider a change of OS
'significant' and will no longer support the unit (except as ex-warranty for
which the costs will probably be exhorbitant).

My advice - learn to love XP. If you'd wanted 2000 you should have stated
that when you bought it.
