View Full Version : 2 phone numbers one line, fax set up?

Larry

I have two phone numbers coming into the house on the
same phone line, the second is for receiving faxes. I set
up the CSID for the fax number, but the computer picks up
the home voice number line also when someone calls.
How do you get windows to only pick up when the fax
number picks up? Thanks

You don't. No NT-based OS supports 'Distinctive Ring'. You would need to
call your telco and ask them to set up Identicall or some other such service
on your line.

I'm using one of these ring selectors with my distinctive ring (3 numbers
on one line):

However, I have a feeling that this model is a little out of date, but you
could check eBay. :-\
