address bar on internet explorer

[Missie]

When I go online and my homepage pops up, (using internet
explorer) something happened that caused my address bar
to disappear. I checked under View-toolbars, and the
address bar is checked so the computer thinks it's on.
All I have for mobility is to enter into the search
engine of whatever homepage I'm on. I want my address
bar back...anybody know what I should do?

What happens if, under View->Toolbars, you uncheck Address Bar and
then re-check it?
