In the last weak or so, I've noticed that logoff and shutdown is much
slower than before.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Am running WinXP with SP1.

Thanks,

jim

Please define slow. It's not unusual for XP to have a slow shutdown even
pre SP1 as XP does a lot of cleanup when the system is shutting down as
opposed to previous versions of Windows. This time can vary based on what
you were doing, applications you were running, temp files created by
applications, a wide range of factors.

If things seem abnormally long, you might want to run a virus scan to play
safe, you also might want to deframent your system to see if that helps.
