Since the XP CD is bootable it is its own rescue disc

As others have commented, the WINXP program disk is bootable so you can
repair your installation using that disk, however, you may need an
alternative approach as I do. What I have done is to make a bootable CD
that will boot into DOS and put on that CD, CDR, USB and firewire drivers
plus Drive Image, Partition Magic, ERUNT and WinResq plus a selection of DOS
tools such as format, fdisk etc. You can easily put a disk together to suit
your needs using Nero or any Burning Program that will make a bootable disk.
I used WinImage to create the bootable image file.
