View Full Version : preventing messenger auto-starting and logging in

As much as I like talking to friends, it is becoming quite frustrating doing
so everytime I have my computer on. There are times, you know when you are
getting romantic with your computer for example, that the interruption is
not wanted so my question:
How do you stop messenger from logging you in and showing that you are
available? I have told it not to start when the pc begins, I have also told
it not to start when outlook express is initiated. This seems to work for a
period of time, but the next time I look there it is in the tray area, a
little green man, all ready to socialise.
Help appreciated for the survival of social chit-chat

Wow I amaze myself sometimes. Just found out that it reconnects when i
change identities in Outlook Express. Each has their own settings so I need
to turn autologin off for all identities. Voila!
