My emachines T2080 came with Conextant Modem
56K-ITU V.92 Fax/Modem

I need to find drivers for this modem. Can somebody please
point me to a modem driver download site?
Thanks.

Hi William,
From the emachines site it looks like all of the modems they list have
drivers included in XP. If you want to check you can run the update advisor
for Windows XP or get in contact with emachines.

Conextant suggests you get drivers from the computer manufacturer. They
however (Conextant) have all the native drivers.

I went to the Conextant website and found it so complicated
and confusing, that I was unable even to find any modem
whose ID had a prefix other than HS. This is a Catch-22 runaround.
Emachines refers me to the modem manufacturer, Conextant,
and Conextant gives you a useless website. Typical.

Yes, this is a familar Catch-22 runaround. And then there's the
confusion between CONEXTANT and CONEXANT and
Conexant/Rockwell. In the old days, you went to a
modem manufactrer's website and found a list of modems
and clicked on the one you needed. Today on Conexant's
website, you can't even get a list of their modems that
includes what eMachines put in their T2080. I'm willing
to be corrected on this, if anybody can lead me to such a list,
and I'm sending a copy of this to eMachines, as a dare.
