About the upcoming SP2 for XP home edition;
Will the CD be available from MS as a free mailer and if so, does anyone
have a handle on about when they are planning to release it for mailing?
Thanks
Dudley

what's the rush?
Are you having serious problems with your system that only SP2 wcan fix?
If not, don't worry, it'll get there when it gets there in the flavours made
available via the mechanisms decided upon.

:-))

No announcements have made, so nobody knows. But judging from
past experience, they will probably make a CD available, if not
for free, then for a modest shipping and handling charge.

No, nobody knows. It's widely rumored to be sometime in August,
but Microsoft hasn't announced a date, and there are no
guarantees. It could be later.

It is expected to be as with SP1, a free CD with a small S&H for those
not in a position for the very large download. And a lot of pressure is
on for free CDs at a much wider distribution, eg cover disks on
magazines. But there is no firm information as yet on when it will be
available at all, let alone about different distribution methods
