I just upgraded from ME to XP (FAT32) and need to start
in safe mode (the reason's not important - configure
Norton Anti-virus, their website says I need to). I
press F8 but when the screen comes up, there is only one
option - start in XP. Safe mode is not given as an
option. Anybody know what's happening?

Hi Chris,

Are you receiving a boot menu at startup? If so, once you select WinXP and
hit <enter>, then hit F8 to access the WinXP boot options.
