Warren,

I just did backups tonight on CDR's. They hold 700mb and
work great. Do you have the Roxio CD Creator 5 or
higher ? That is what i use to do a Data backup CDR. If
not, there is the drag and drop option. What i did for
the drag & drop is copy everything into one big folder
then open up My PC and shrink the window. Then you click
on my PC again and get another window. Now you have 2
windows side by side that you may have to manually shrink
with the black arrows at the edges of the windows on the
right or left sides. Click on your CDR drive or backup
drive (Example: Seagate or an installed tape drive) on
one window. On the other window you will probably have to
click on the C: drive or your hard drive letter and look
for the folder you created with your backup data. Click
on the folder and drop it right on the other windows CDR
drive or backup drive. Make sure to have a computer
compatible CDR or multi-purpose CDR if you are using a
CDR to do your backup. I don't know what devices or
drives you have but you can so this with a zip drive
also. Follow the same steps as the CDR process. If worse
comes to worse go buy a big box of floppy disks and copy
critical documents or pictures over to them. Most
floppy's hold 1.44 megabytes which is a decent amount of
space but i have some that will hold 2.0 megabytes. I
have backed up alot of my personal things on both types
of media. I hope some of these suggestions help : )
