Nguyen,

Depending on your processor speed it will take some time.
I personally use Norton's Utilities which can be
purchased for $ 50 or less from Best Buy or a Wal-Mart
store. You can buy the product at www.symantec.com also.
I use this program for all hard drive and software
maintenance. You get alot of useful features with the
software package. The full defrag or optimization of my
120GB hard drive takes no more than 20 minutes but i have
a Pentium 4 with 2.4ghz speed. You didn't say which
computer you had or the speed so factor your CPU speed
into the equation. If you have a Pentium 3 or higher i
would suggest the Norton's Utilities. If you have a
Pentium 1 or 2 or your CPU processor is less than 300mhz
in speed then i suggest not buying the software and
preparing yourself to buy a new computer soon. I hope
this helps you : )

Defrag in safe mode, so that background programs are not
writing to the disk.
